 | Ryobi vs Bosch vs Delta? |
|
Looking at 10" TS's and Ryobi's 3000 looked good 'til I considered all the
plastic components and the fact that the sliding miter table sits about 3/64
higher than the rest of the table (could put you about 1 degree off?). Then
the Bosch 4000 looked good 'til I discovered it won't hold its blade depth
every time you start it (also the tilt doesn't screw down - its weight just
drops it till you lock it approximately in place). Would appreciate any
suggestions, including what Delta model is in a similar price range?
---------------------
-The Bosch is great. How often do you bevel and how often out of 45 degrees.
It's very easy to use. 15 minutes after unpacking it, I was ripping boards.
The nice thing about the bosch is that they have accessories that you can buy
that can make it much larger (left sided addition and outfeed extension). This
was my first table saw and was good for this hobbyist. When I get more
experienced and more room and more money, I'll buy a cabinet saw with the hot
dog/finger sparing mechanism which hopefully saw makers will begin to include
soon.
But the Bosch is solid. Only problem is that it's a direct drive and pretty
loud. -If you have heard soooo much bad news about the Bosch and Ryobi, buy a
Delta.
