Craftsman Tools

I seemed to have picked up and a general consensus in this newgroup...everyone hates Craftsman or think of the products as 'amusing'. Is Craftsman so terrible?

---------------------

-No. There are people on this group that have Craftsman tools and do just fine with them. Very few will admit it though. Like so many products these days, you have to know what you are looking at. Some are just fine, some are not worth the money.

-Put it this way, rather than slamming Craftsman I think we can all agree that none of us have seen any reviews that put a Craftsman tool as better than a delta. That said, so far when Craftsman are at regular priced I can buy a delta most times cheaper. Of a grizzly/BusyBee/King tool for less. When they have their half priced sale on their power tools in my opinion is the only time you pay what they are worth. For the regular price why by a Craftsman when you can buy a delta? (This is in Canada I dont know if the same is true in the states) but so far I've outfitted my shop with delta for a lot less than the equivalent Craftsman. Although I feel there is a huge quality difference as well.
