DeWalt Tools

I was at my local DeWalt authorized service center today and was told that the only difference between B&D and DeWalt is the yellow color. Does anyone have any input on this?

---------------------

-Yep. B&D owns DeWalt and there are *certain* overlaps in the B&D Industrial and DeWalt branded lines, but generally the DeWalt tools are designed for the professional market and B&D tools are designed for the very occasional use to weekend DIYer use.

Putting my rec.woodworking hobby in perspective, I wear out the professional grade tools.

-I wouldn't go as to say that color is the only difference. But I would say that B&D is for the weekend occaisonal user and DeWalt is for the more serious wood worker, but not professional. I would go for the Porter Cable, Bosch or Hitachi for better quality.
