 | Humidor article in Fine Woodworking. |
|
I just opened the December '97 issue of Fine Woodworking and it has a
decent article on constructing a humidor. Its not really plans, per
se, but an article on how to build the humidor. It could very easily
be used to build just about any size humidor. Just in time for the
long winter evenings spent indoors, a workshop project.
---------------------
-Not only that, judging by some of the humidors pictured, it's also time
to find the most unique object to build a humidor in. I've got my eye on
an old TV cabinet from the 50's and a friend has an old telephone booth
that he had converted. -I got a catalog from a woodworker's supply house called Penn State
Industries yesterday and they had a humidor kit. It was already cut and
ready for assembly and finishing. It comes in three wood grains and sells
for $99-114 depending on the wood. For those who would like to make their own humidor byt don't have all the
tools to work the wood this seems to be a good compromise. I also saw that they are selling spanish cedar veneer (.03) with pressure
sensitive adhesive applied. That looks like a good deal for anyone who
would like to line a storage cooler with cedar. They show a website address of: www.pennstateind.com. I didn't check but I
assume that the humidor kit is listed there.
