 | Help - woodworking/furniture repair problem |
|
| I have a woodworking/furniture repair problem - I converted an antique English buffet into a bathroom vanity. Applied
4 coats of polyurethane to top and cut hole for wash basin. Top is
about 1/2" thick mahogany (I think). The top split about 70% of its
entire width, extending across the sink opening along the same grain.
My guess is that the calked-in sink prevented the top from "working."
Need advice on best way to repair this crack and prevent it from
recurring.
---------------------
-Replace the top with marble or granite. -My thoughts exactly [or slate for that matter]....
