 | Woodworking in Italy |

I have a trip to Tuscany on the horizon, any interesting woodworking
locations anybody knows of?
---------------------
-Thought I replied to this but don't see the post so will say again that
Sorrento has lots of inlay work and is a beautiful town overlooking the
Mediterranean. I was there last spring at this time. And I say again I love
Italy. -Sorrento does have quite a few marquetery shops, but the city isn't
close to Tuscany. It's about 6 hours due south by train from
Florence. I don't recall much woodwork in Tuscany, aside from some interesting
entry doors. Almost all of the structural work I saw (Florence,
Siena) was stone, brick or stucco - but that should in now way impair
your enjoyment ! -Orvieto is famous for its woodworking. It's not in Tuscany, but in
Umbria, just south of it. The even have a Woodworker's Feast (in March
or April). Lots of shops all over the place, where you can buy stuff &
watch people work. Also very good white wine. You can also usually see many woodworking shops all over small towns
in Umbria and Tuscany.
