Does anyone have this issue? I'm looking for the plans for the
Exploding Bank in the January 1998 issue. The back issue is no longer
available from Popular Woodworking.
---------------------
Don't have the issue requested but do remember the bank. Reaction were
funny. Made one and a few of the "older kids" at work wanted their own. So
I built a few more. Real easy to build. Four sides, mitered corners, which fit into routed
slots in top and bottom pieces. Inside just large enough to hold standard
size mouse trap. Three screws were then partially inserted into three of
the walls so that when trap goes off, bail wire strikes screws sending parts
all over. Cut slot in top piece in such a way that when coin drops, it hits
trap release (normally bait holder). Finish it anyway you want. Good use
for scraps.
