 | Initial Woodworking Tools |
|
| I'm a beginning woodworker. Below is a list of woodworking power tools.
Please list in order those which I should buy first to allow me or any
beginning woodworker to get the most woodworking abilities out of the tools
bought. 10" contractor's table saw
6" variable speed bench jointer 12 1/2" portable planer
9" band saw
2" pneumatic brad nailer
small air compressor 1/2" router
10" drill press
10" compound miter saw
plate joiner
---------------------
Get yourself a good table saw, start making sawdust and then reassess your
needs. Remove the 9" bandsaw from your considerations. 14" is the minimum
for doinging resaw work IMO. A good 6 inch jointer (doesn't need to be variable speed) and planer would
be my second and third choices. Some folks would argue that the bandsaw
should be high on the list, depends what kind of projects or resaw work you
want to do. . Airnailer and compressor would be at the bottom of my list.
